Designed for
Who this pair is for
For the tendon that is stiff at dawn and sore at dusk
Achilles tendinopathy is an overloaded tendon: too much stretch, too often, without enough recovery. It is stiff first thing, eases with movement, and aches after. The two mechanical things that make it worse are a heel that drops too far with each step and a heel that wobbles under the tendon.
This design addresses both. A small heel lift built into the shell reduces how far the tendon must stretch as the foot flattens; a stable heel cup stops the wobble; arch support from your impression controls the inward roll that twists the tendon. It is not a substitute for calf strengthening — it is what makes the day between rehab sessions tolerable.

FAQ
Questions about the achilles pair
Still unsure? Write to care@evensteporthotics.com — a person answers.
How does a heel lift help the Achilles?
Raising the heel slightly reduces how far the calf and tendon must stretch as the foot flattens in each step, which lowers the peak load on a sore tendon. It is a standard, temporary part of Achilles care alongside calf strengthening.
Should I run in these?
Once a clinician has cleared you to run, yes — they are shaped for running and walking shoes. Build up mileage gradually and keep doing the strengthening; the orthotic manages load, it does not replace rehab.
Achilles or heel pain design?
Achilles for pain at the back of the heel and up the tendon, especially stiff in the morning. Heel pain for pain under the heel bone. Both hold the heel; only this one lifts it.
How do I know they will fit?
Your orthotics are shaped from an impression of your own feet, not a size chart, and the shell is set to your weight band. We confirm the length from the impression and trim the pair to the shoe type you told us about. If anything is off, a remake is free inside the 180-day guarantee.
What's different from a shelf insole?
A shelf insole is one of three or four shapes chosen to fit millions of feet; it cushions but it cannot hold a heel or contour an arch that isn't its own. A custom orthotic is shaped from an impression of your foot, so the heel cup, arch profile and forefoot relief are yours. If a shelf insole has already solved your problem, keep it — we say so in our guides.
Which shoes will these fit?
Full-length designs fit sneakers, walking and running shoes, work boots and most lace-ups; remove the shoe's own insole and slide ours in, trimming along the guide if needed. The three-quarter design is for dress shoes and flats where there is no room for a full insole. Each pair is shaped for one shoe type, which is why a second pair for a different shoe is $139.
