Plantar fasciitis
A deep heel cup, a firm arch contour and a soft heel pad — designed to offload the plantar fascia from the first step of the day.
The workshop
Milled and finished by hand. Your impression goes to one bench, and your pair comes back from the same one.
Milled and finished by hand in our New York workshop, from domestic and imported materials.

Designed for
Four steps, in order, at one bench.
Your foam impression is checked the day it arrives. The arch, the heel cup and the width of the forefoot become the shape your pair is built to — not a size chart.
A technician fits the design you chose, or the quiz matched, to your shape: where the arch peaks, how deep the heel sits, where the forefoot needs room.
The shell is milled to that contour and its firmness follows your weight band; the top cover goes on and the edges are smoothed by hand, so the pair sits flat in your shoe on day one.
The finished pair is checked against your impression before it is packed. If it does not match, it does not ship.
The designs
Every design starts from the same impression; the design sets the geometry and the shell. Three of the twenty-five are below — the quiz matches one of them to your answers.

Everyday
Built for 4+ hours standing or walking at work: a deep heel cup, a firm arch and a durable top cover for concrete, tile and twelve-hour shifts.
Inside the workshop
Spline is our own workshop: a working orthotics lab in New York. Your impression is checked when it lands, the design is contoured to it, the shell is milled to that contour and finished by hand, and the finished pair is checked against your impression again before it is packed and shipped.

Numbers over adjectives. Every number below is the same number on the product pages, in the policies and on your receipt — they cannot disagree.
"Our workshop" on this site means the one queue we run at Spline, in the order impressions arrive.
How this compares with named brands is on our compare pages, where every competitor fact carries its source URL and the date we read it.
From your kitchen table to this bench
Everything happens at home except the making. Milled and finished by hand in our New York workshop, from domestic and imported materials.
Where it hurts, what you do all day, which shoes. We match one of 25 designs to you — no diagnosis, just a fit plan.
A foam impression kit ships within 1 business day of your order. Press each foot into the foam, close the box and send it back. Five minutes, no appointment; shipping is free both ways.
Your impression is checked the day it lands — that is the day your delivery clock starts. A technician contours arch, heel and forefoot to your foot; the shell is milled to that contour, finished and checked against your impression.
Under 10 business days from the day we receive your impression, tracked the whole way. Counted in business days from the day your impression arrives at our workshop. Slide them in, lace up, walk. 180 days to decide.
The honest guarantee
Wear your pair for six months. If they are not right, we remake them.

Spline, our own workshop in New York. EvenStep was founded by Dr. George Bolotin, MD, physician-founder; the technicians who shape your pair are the ones who check it and pack it.
Yes. Your impression is checked, the design is contoured to it, the shell is milled to that contour, and the finished pair is checked against the impression again before it ships. Two feet of different sizes get two different orthotics.
The photographs on this page are of the Spline lab where every pair is made — the racks, the finishing bench and the sheet stock. The how it works page shows every step in order.
Every impression is checked before production. If yours cannot be used we email you and send a replacement kit at no charge; the clock starts again the day the new impression arrives.
Under 10 business days from the day we receive your impression — or a full refund. The clock starts the day we receive your impression, not the day you order, so a kit waiting at your house never eats into it. Every leg of the timeline is on the delivery page.
