For work boots

Custom insoles, cut for the boot.

Most insoles are made for a sneaker and then squeezed into a boot. This one is shaped from an impression of your feet to the volume of a work boot — heel held, arch supported, a thick layer between you and the concrete.

Work Boots custom insole — EvenStep

Designed for

Four things a boot needs that a sneaker insole does not have

A boot holds the foot higher and stiffer than a shoe, and the ground underneath is usually harder. The work-boot design is built for both.

  1. 01

    A boot-volume profile

Thicker through the heel and midfoot so the pair fills the boot instead of rattling in it; it trims along the guide to the boot's own insole.

  2. 02

    A deep heel cup

Holds the heel over its own fat pad on hard ground, ladder rungs and truck steps.

  3. 03

A firm arch from your impression

Taken from the foam you press at home, so the arch peaks where yours does. Shell firmness follows your weight band.

  4. 04

    A thick shock layer

A dense cushioning layer under the shell for the hours on concrete, without turning the boot into a marshmallow.

The designs

The boot design, and two that pair with it

The work-boot insole for the job; the long-shift design or the heel-pain design for the sneakers you change into. A second pair for a different shoe is $139, from the same impression.

From the truck to the bench and back

Four steps. One trip to the mailbox.

Everything happens at home except the making. Milled and finished by hand in our New York workshop, from domestic and imported materials.

  1. 01

    Take the 50-second quiz

Where it hurts, what you do all day, which shoes. We match one of 25 designs to you — no diagnosis, just a fit plan.

  2. 02

Press into the kit at home

A foam impression kit ships within 1 business day of your order. Press each foot into the foam, close the box and send it back. Five minutes, no appointment; shipping is free both ways.

  3. 03

We make your pair in our own workshop

Your impression is checked the day it lands — that is the day your delivery clock starts. A technician contours arch, heel and forefoot to your foot; the shell is milled to that contour, finished and checked against your impression.

  4. 04

At your door — or a full refund

Under 10 business days from the day we receive your impression, tracked the whole way. Counted in business days from the day your impression arrives at our workshop. Slide them in, lace up, walk. 180 days to decide.

The honest guarantee

180 days. 100% back. Nothing deducted.

Wear your pair for six months. If they are not right, we remake them. If they are still not right, we refund every dollar — the full price, not the price minus a restocking fee, a shipping fee, or a "deduction" buried in the terms.

FAQ

Questions from the job site

Still unsure? Write to care@evensteporthotics.com — a person answers.

Do they fit safety boots with a steel or composite toe?

Yes. Remove the boot's own insole and slide the pair in; the profile is cut for boot volume and trims along the guide at the toe. Tell us the boot type when you order and we shape the forefoot for it.

Will one pair work in my boots and my sneakers?

Not well — a boot and a sneaker hold the foot differently. Your impression stays on file, so a second pair shaped for the sneaker is $139, in the same order or later.

How do I take the impression at home?

Sit down, press each foot into the foam with a hand on your knee, lift straight up, close the box and send it back. About five minutes; everything you need to send it back is in the box, and shipping is free both ways.

Can I pay with my FSA or HSA card?

FSA/HSA eligible — pay with your FSA/HSA card at checkout or submit our itemized receipt. We don't bill insurance.

What if they are not right?

Within 180 days of delivery a remake is free, and so is a 100% refund if you would rather — no deductions, free return shipping. Read the guarantee in one paragraph on the guarantee page.
